Why sterling silver is the smart buy this season
Gold has stayed close to record levels all year, with 24K gold still around ₹1.48 lakh per 10 g in mid-October 2026. Silver, at roughly ₹210 to ₹240 per gram this month, is more than 60 times cheaper gram for gram, and it is still a genuine precious metal. That is why more shoppers are choosing silver for Dhanteras, Diwali and everyday wear.
What does 925 mean? Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver mixed with 7.5% other metals, usually copper, to make it strong enough for everyday jewellery. It is the international standard for fine silver jewellery.

How to check silver purity in India
Hallmarking of silver jewellery in India is still voluntary, though the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is working towards making it mandatory. Since September 2025, any silver article that is hallmarked must carry the BIS logo with the word SILVER, its purity grade (such as 925) and a 6-digit HUID code, which you can verify on the BIS CARE app.
All our silver jewellery is made in 925 sterling silver, and each listing shows the total weight of the piece, including the gemstone.
Ring sizes
Each gemstone ring is listed in a specific size, shown in the product title (for example, Size-14). Many designs are available in more than one size as separate listings. Not sure of your size? Contact us before you order and we will help.
Silver care
- Tarnish is normal: real silver slowly darkens when exposed to air and moisture. It is not a sign of poor quality.
- Polish gently with a silver polishing cloth. Avoid dips and harsh cleaners on porous stones like turquoise, opal and pearl.
- Store it airtight in a zip pouch or anti-tarnish bag, one piece per pouch.
- Remove before bathing, swimming, cleaning, or applying perfume and lotion.
Frequently asked questions
Is 925 silver real silver?
Yes. 925 sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver. The remaining 7.5% is added for strength, because pure silver is too soft for rings and pendants.
Is silver hallmarking mandatory in India?
Not yet. Silver hallmarking is currently voluntary, but if a piece is hallmarked it must carry a 6-digit HUID that you can check on the BIS CARE app.
Why has my silver jewellery turned dark?
That is tarnish, a natural reaction between silver and the air. Polish it with a silver cloth and store it in an airtight pouch to slow it down.
Is silver jewellery a good buy for Dhanteras?
Dhanteras is traditionally a day to buy precious metals, and many families choose silver. A sterling silver ring or pendant keeps the tradition while giving you something to wear. See our Dhanteras and Diwali gift guide.
